Premiere of ‘Lifeblood’ reinforces community calls to protect kimberley water

The Broome community came together for the Kimberley premiere of the incredible new film, Lifeblood by Protect the Fitzroy last week.

The 50 minute film documents the life along the 733km national-heritage Martuwarra Fitzroy River - currently, one of the world’s healthiest river systems.

KLC CEO Tyronne Garstone spoke at the event, talking to the long history of advocacy for the protection of the Martuwarra, and reinforcing the need for unity as we move forward.

“We have to stay united as a community to ensure the protection of the river, the lifeblood of the Kimberley,” Mr Garstone said.

“The KLC will continue to work with Traditional Owners to ensure they have a say on the future of the river and water in the Kimberley.”
