For all research proposals involving Kimberley Aboriginal people or land or waters, please read the KLC Research Protocol and the Intellectual Property and Traditional Knowledge Policy, and complete the 15 Questions for Researchers document, which are also available for download from KLC Policies section, and submit this with a detailed proposal to the REAC Assessment Team: firstname.lastname@example.org
Anyone planning to undertake research with Kimberley Aboriginal people, or within Kimberley Aboriginal people’s Lands/Waters, needs to have an Agreement in place before they begin any research activities.
Genealogy Access Requests:
The Kimberley Land Council collects genealogical information specifically for Native Title Claim work.
Because of the nature of Native Title court proceedings, the KLC is not able to release genealogies for public access. However, each request will be considered on an individual basis.
We have also compiled a list of websites of other places to search for this information.
