KLC News Update, February 11, 2010
Aboriginal rangers from across the Kimberley will come together for the first time ever to attend a knowledge sharing workshop in April.
About 150 rangers are expected to attend the Kimberley Ranger Forum which will focus on strengthening ranger skills in the areas of technology, personal and professional development and ways to expand the success of the program.
The forum will also provide an opportunity for rangers, who often work in remote areas of the Kimberley, to meet each other for the first time, network and share ideas and experiences.
Rangers from the Central Desert and Pilbara regions of Western Australia will also be attending along with groups from Katherine, the Gulf of Carpentaria and Victoria.
The Kimberley Land Council, which currently facilitates 14 ranger groups in the Kimberley, will be hosting the forum at Home Valley Station between April 12 and 16, 2010.
For more information or to inquire about attending please contact Kaylene Yates on (08) 9194 0100.
